Plusnet Mobile Shut Down – Switch for Discounted Deals

Plusnet has announced it’s closing down it’s mobile SIM card offering meaning customers will need to switch providers to get the best deals.

If you are a Plusnet Mobile customer, your SIM card will eventually stop working, although Plusnet have not yet stated when this will happen.

BT, the owner of Plusnet, is closing down the mobile service in favour of EE being their ‘go to’ mobile offering.

It looks like existing Plusnet mobile customers will be offered discounted deals on the EE network but for those looking to switch there are other options.

If customers chose Plusnet because it used the EE signal and offered cheaper deals, there are a couple of virtual networks that also run on EE to choose from.

Talk Home Mobile operates on EE and has some amazing SIM Only deals with monthly rental starting at just 1p a month for the first three months, you can compare their latest deals here.

This MVNO offers 5G speeds, 1 month rolling contracts and free EU roaming without any data caps!

Another popular network using EE’s masts is 1p Mobile.

What deals will EE offer Plusnet customers?

Plusnet Existing Customer EE SIM Only Deals

Whilst Plusnet have said that all customers will be contacted with discounted deals on EE, we think it’s likely to be very similar to the discounts offered to BT Broadband customers.

This usually means a 10% saving on EE’s standard pricing, however at the moment customers can enjoy double data on EE SIM Only deals.

This means customers can enjoy a whopping 100GB of data for just £13.50 a month!

How do I keep my Plusnet number and switch?

Keeping your number and switching networks is easy thanks to Ofcom’s ‘Text to Switch’ service.

Simply text the word PAC to 65075 and Plusnet will send back your PAC code within 60 seconds.

Once you have your new SIM card, give your PAC code to your new network and they’ll transfer your number across for you the next working day.

Plusnet customers will be able to leave the network, regardless of their contract period, without having to pay an early cancellation fee.

Plusnet mobile customers can easily keep their number and switch to other networks, compare the cheapest SIM Only deals today.
